Text messaging promo pays off

August 27, 2010, Boca Raton, FL – Shakey’s Pizza Parlor’s test
campaign allowing customers to send a text message to the restaurant and
receive a discount on a large pizza has been a big success.

A three-month test program targeting 30 stores in Southern
California allowed Shakey’s to develop a database of more than 16,000 people
who texted-in to receive the discount. A follow-up campaign promoted a special
offer to Shakey’s mobile subscribers, resulting in a 10 per cent conversion
rate of customers who used their text coupon to buy a pizza during the one-day
offer.

"All told, the franchisees were pleased with the
success of our mobile advertising efforts and we will continue to expand this
strategy," a Shakey's representative said.

Shakey’s Pizza Parlor was established in 1954 and operates
more than 200 locations worldwide.
