December 5, 2011, Toronto – Members of the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association (CRFA) have a powerful new promotional tool at their fingertips.

Through a partnership with CMSText, a leading supplier of mobile marketing solutions for the restaurant industry, CRFA members can increase guest frequency through special offers delivered to their customers’ mobile phones.

“Many of our members have expressed an interest in mobile marketing, but they don’t have the in-house resources to launch and manage a program. The beauty of this new partnership is that CMSText takes care of everything – from the POS materials to the text messages to reporting and measuring the return on investment,” said CRFA President and CEO Garth Whyte.

The CMSText service allows CRFA members to build a database of customers who have requested and want to receive timely offers and announcements. Restaurateurs can send the text messages at any time, and customers simply show the coupon on their mobile phone to redeem the offer.

CRFA members receive a special discount on the CMSText service, which includes 24/7 support for all phases of the mobile marketing campaign.

“CRFA has made a commitment to providing state-of-the-art marketing technologies for their members and we look forward to our partnership,” said Conrad R. Carney II, CMSText CEO. “We’re confident that CRFA members will be pleased with the significant return on investment from mobile marketing.”

According to studies by CMSText, text-based mobile coupons have a 10 to 30 per cent redemption rate, compared to less than one per cent for paper coupons. In addition, 98 per cent of text messages are read within four minutes of being received.
