Rich Products has entered the plant-based market with freezer-to-oven crusts to help operators appeal to health-conscious customers.

The company, known for making gluten-free freezer-to-oven crusts, now has branched out into plant-based crusts with two featured crusts: the Broccoli Cheddar Pizza Crust and Seasoned Cauliflower Pizza Crust.

Creating plant-based, gluten-free crust from scratch is labour intensive, time consuming and difficult to get right, the company said. The ready-made crusts can help attract new customers, increase ticket averages and set your pizzeria apart in a market where free-from menu items can be hard to find.

And with a growing number of households dealing with dietary restrictions, families are on the lookout for restaurants where the whole family can eat together, the company added.

The Broccoli Cheddar crusts contain more than 20 per cent broccoli, and provide a foundation for unique pizzas, chips, sandwich fillings and flatbread apps.

The Seasoned Cauliflower crusts cook, cut and crunch like traditional pizza. The plant-based crusts are made with more than 20 per cent cauliflower and are an ideal base for creative toppings, alongside dips and as a panini carrier.

Both broccoli cheddar and cauliflower crusts are 10 inches, weigh 5.2 ounces and are available in packs of 24 with a shelf life of 180 days.

Rich’s 10-inch gluten-free crusts are available in packs of 24 7.75-ounce crusts with a shelf life of 270 days. The 12-inch gluten-free seasoned crusts come in packs of 20 15.2-ounce crusts with a shelf life of 270 days.
