Free improvement kits for select Globe slicers

September 30, 2011, Dayton, OH – Globe Food Equipment is releasing an improvement kit to enhance the removal and cleaning of the knife cover for certain Globe models.

The kits will be available at no charge for Globe's 3600, 3850, 3975, 4600, 4850 and 4975 models, manufactured between 1999 and 2007.

The slicer models listed above contain a white plastic part on the inside of the knife cover, which contains a magnet to prevent slicer activation when the knife cover is removed. The slicer cannot be used without this plastic part attached to the machine. As originally manufactured, the white plastic part is sealed with food-grade silicone to eliminate any seams. Over time, and with the use of harsh cleaning solutions, the silicone may degrade and leave an area that can be more difficult to clean. Although the existing plastic part can be removed, it requires an Allen wrench which may not always be available.

Globe's new slicer kit includes tools and instructions for owners on how to remove the existing part, and after thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the cover, how to replace the old part with the new removable white plastic part. The new part is designed to be removed easily for cleaning and reinstalled without any tools.
