Chef of the Year finalists announced

December 12, 2011, Simcoe, ON – Canadian Pizza magazine has selected the finalists for its annual Chef of the Year competition.

This year's finalists are Richard Ames of Daddio's Pizzeria in Grand Prairie, Alta., Cory Medd of Two Guys and a Pizza Place in Lethbridge, Alta., and Marina Rondinelli of Rondo's Pizza Plus in Bright's Grove, Ont.

On Dec. 13, Canadian Pizza magazine staff will carefully assemble and bake each pie, which will then be tasted and scored by a panel of judges.

This year's bake day will be hosted at the new Faema Canada facility in Mississauga, Ont.

The winner of the bake off will receive a trip to Las Vegas, March 13 – 15, 2012, to attend the International Pizza Expo, plus $1,000. The prize includes flight, hotel, registration fee for Pizza Expo and the International Pizza Challenge, and a guaranteed spot in the traditional or non-traditional finals – your choice!

One runner up will also receive a trip package to Las Vegas, registration for Pizza Expo and the International Pizza Challenge, and a guaranteed spot in the traditional or non-traditional finals (category to be determined by winner's choice).
