MONTREAL (CP) – The RCMP say police have dismantled a clandestine printing shop that made phoney $20 bills south of Montreal.
MONTREAL (CP) – The RCMP say police have dismantled a clandestine printing shop that made phoney $20 bills south of Montreal.
Various police forces seized 18,000 counterfeit $20 bills at the shop in Longueuil before Christmas and another 9,000 bills later.
Police are asking the public to be vigilant because they say there are still counterfeit $20 bills from the Birds of Canada series in circulation.
Most of them are in Quebec but some have made their way to the rest of the country.
One man has been charged with making, possessing and distributing counterfeit money.
