McCormick Canada introduces new line of spices
McCormick Canada's iconic 80-year-old brand, Club House, has introduced
six new dry seasoning mixes to satisfy Canadian appetites for restaurant
quality ethnic dishes.



McCormick Canada's iconic 80-year-old brand, Club House, has introduced
six new dry seasoning mixes to satisfy Canadian appetites for restaurant
quality ethnic dishes.

The new Club House
dry seasoning mixes include Kung Pao, Szechuan, Butter Chicken, Tandoori, Thai
Coconut Chicken and Pad Thai. These new mixes contain no artificial flavours,
colours or trans fat and offer easy to follow and quick on-pack recipes that
require only three to six ingredients. Each flavour indicates, on the top right
of the package, a spice heat rating of mild, medium or hot. Suggested retail is
$1.59 per package, although prices may vary slightly at grocery stores.

"Canadian consumers have a growing appetite for exotic fare," says
Kim Fox, product manager for the consumer products division of McCormick
Canada. "This product line was developed in response to consumer interest
in creating restaurant quality ethnic dishes at home. These dishes are popular,
but the average consumer does not know how to make them at home. We have
provided a quick and easy solution."

"More and more consumers, in their desire to duplicate restaurant
experiences at home, are adding ethnic foods to their grocery carts,"
notes Fox. "The sales of ethnic sauces are growing in the grocery channel
with Indian and Thai flavours leading the pack with double digit growth,
according to Nielsen. Chinese food ranks at the top of the Canadian favourite
list – actually greater than Italian and North American cuisine."
