Gabriel Pizza snags outstanding company award in Ottawa

Nov. 21, 2014, Ottawa – Gabriel Pizza has been recognized as one
of the Outstanding Companies of the year at the annual Best Ottawa Business
Awards.

Nov. 21, 2014, Ottawa – Gabriel Pizza has been recognized as one
of the Outstanding Companies of the year at the annual Best Ottawa Business
Awards.

The awards recognize successful, innovative companies and
business leaders in the Ottawa area.

Under the leadership of President George Hanna, the
company  embarked on a growth plan in 2008. They created a 10,000-square-foot corporate head office
and 80-seat call centre in Ottawa East to serve Gabriel’s corporate and
franchise locations.

Since then the company has grown to 35 locations with more
planned for Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.

In the spring of 2014, the company was awarded the exclusive
rights to sell pizza at TD Place, and the company is a major corporate sponsor
and the official pizza of the Ottawa RedBlacks, Ottawa Fury FC and Ottawa 67’s.

Its partners for food distribution, store construction and
design and technology infrastructure are based in Ottawa.

“Awards like this are important to the city because they
recognize the hard work of local businesses, especially when those businesses have been
part of the community for a long time,” said president George Hanna. “It’s a
great feeling overall.”

Earlier this year, Hanna received the 40 Under 40
Award.

The Best Ottawa Business Awards and 40 Under 40 awards are
organized by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Business Journal.
