‘Extra Stinky’ garlic pizza debuts at The Pizza Press in California

Anaheim, CA – The Pizza Press, a pizza chain out of California, has debuted the ‘Extra Stinky Foodbeast’ Pizza, featuring two cloves of roasted garlic, in partnership with digital publisher Foodbeast, The Anaheim Hotel and tourism organization Visit Anaheim.

The specialty pizza is part of a larger culinary-themed room service package with the hotel, offering guests a stay, two pizzas and two root beer floats.

The personal-sized pie is loaded with more than two heads of garlic, including both minced garlic and roasted cloves. The flavour profile is rounded out with spicy tomato sauce, caramelized onion and mozzarella.

According to a news release from Foodbeast, “For those who can’t handle the funk, you can order the pizza ‘Regular Stinky’ to omit the additional garlic cloves on top.”

“When I was first approached by Foodbeast and Visit Anaheim about the ‘Stinky Pizza,’ I had serious doubts when I saw it on paper,” said Dara Maleki, founder and CEO of The Pizza Press. “But the unprecedented amount of garlic on this pizza will surprisingly have you coming back for more.”

The Pizza Press also worked with Beer Savage to pair the pie with Beach Grease Beer Company’s ‘Surf Zombie Hazy IPA,’ which complements the flavours and helps mitigate some of the heat from the garlic, the pizzeria said in the release.
