Toronto – Third-party delivery company DoorDash has launched an engineering site in Toronto with plans to hire at least 50 engineers in back-end, front-end and mobile roles by the end of the year.

Engineers in Toronto will work on critical business projects with a focus on expanding the company’s reach and breadth of services throughout Canada.

Core areas of work include launching new merchant services to expand services available to over 30,000 Canadian restaurants, scaling its on-demand logistics app enabling customers to find and order from local and national restaurants, enhancing online ordering for restaurants through DoorDash’s commission-free Storefront, and adding integrations and features to its customer loyalty product, DashPass.

The company plans to increase its total Canadian corporate headcount to 200 by the end of 2021.
