Customer attacks pizza man

Nov. 20, 2008 – Sudbury – Not getting a tip was the least of a pizza delivery man's worries.  He walked away with redness to his neck and scratches on his
back and thigh after a customer jumped him in May for delivering an
unsatisfactory pie.

"I've heard a lot of factual situations sitting on this bench.
This is a completely new one for me," said Ontario Court Justice Jean-
Gilles Lebel.

"It's not a very pleasant occupation at times. He's probably just trying to do his job."

People who deliver food are often ripped off, the judge said.

Derrick Blair, 28, pleaded guilty Tuesday to assaulting the pizza man.

He was given a conditional discharge for six months and won't have a criminal record if he doesn't reoffend in that time.
