August 27, 2010, Township of Puslinch, Ont. – For the month
of September, S. Pellegrino will be available in a special edition one-litre
glass bottle created by famed Italian designer Missoni.
Available in September for a limited time only at fine
dining restaurants across Canada, the Missoni-inspired bottle was commissioned
by Nestlé Waters S.A. for the S. Pellegrino Italian Talents program.
“The goal of this initiative is to create synergies, by involving
S. Pellegrino Sparkling Natural Mineral Water with Italian companies of
international renown that express Italian culture and style,” said M.J.
Somerville, senior marketing manager, Nestlé Waters Canada. “The result
showcases S. Pellegrino Sparkling Natural Mineral Water’s characteristics.”
“Clothing a bottle, exteriorizing the tones, reflections and
nuances that the light creates on the water’s surface is a task we have
assigned to ourselves, to give shape to our interpretation of S. Pellegrino —
an object capable of evoking and amplifying water’s characteristics of
freshness, transparency and radiance through our distinctive zigzag motif, ”
explained Angela Missoni, creative director for Missoni. “Ours has been an
intervention aimed at exceeding the confines of a simple marketing operation.
We have not invented anything new. We tried to convey and experience and taste
in things in our most fluid and congenial manner.”
Available in four colours, the addition of the special edition
bottle marks the first time in the more than 100 years of the S. Pellegrino
brand that its iconic label has been altered.
