December 23, 2011, Buffalo, NY – Rosina Food Products, Inc. has acquired the assets of the San Rallo Pasta business from Mitsui Foods, Inc., a large importer and distributor of a variety of food products.

“These products are an excellent fit into Rosina’s organization and core capabilities. We anticipate a very smooth transition for San Rallo’s customers, many of whom already have a strong sales relationship with Rosina,” said Russell Corigliano, president and CEO of Rosina Food Products.

The opportunity to continue the long standing tradition of the San Rallo Pasta’s superior products and service is viewed as an excellent prospect for Rosina.

“The San Rallo organization has done an outstanding job servicing their current customer base. Rosina’s logistics and exceptional service capabilities will quickly be put in place for the added benefit of our new customers," said Frank J. Corigliano, executive vice-president of Rosina. "Rosina also looks forward to being able to present both our complete product line and technical services expertise to them as well.”

Rosina is considering options regarding increasing the production capability of its West Seneca, N.Y., pasta and entree facility. This could include the installation of equipment acquired as part of this transaction. Such a project would increase Rosina’s ability to produce more specialty pasta products for the company’s expanded customer base.

Rosina is a premier manufacturer of frozen protein, pasta and entrees. The company operates two facilities; frozen meatball, sausage and pizza topping products are produced at the Cheektowaga, N.Y., plant, and frozen pasta, eggplant, and entrée products are manufactured at the West Seneca plant. The products are sold internationally, with a strong presence in the retail, foodservice, military and industrial channels.
