Oct. 16, 2013, Toronto – Pizza Pizza launched an ordering app for Android devices. It includes features that are also available on the Pizza Pizza iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch apps.
These features include an interactive “pizza builder” that shows the pizza as toppings and sauces are added, a coupon scanner, app-only specials, and a search option for nearby restaurant locations.
Other features are:
- A "Scratch and Win" game at the end of the ordering process that rewards users with a chance to uncover three identical symbols and win free menu items on their next order
- Browse the Pizza Pizza menu
- Customers can pay at the door or through the app
"Favourite order" feature that allows one-click ordering (saves up to five orders) - View last five orders (automatically saves and repeat with a click)
- A countdown timer that tracks the time guarantee on the order
- Ability to save multiple addresses to the customer’s profile (work, home, cottage, etc.)
- University students can use meal cards as a payment option
In 2012, 30 per cent of orders to Pizza Pizza came through its website. Now more than 36 per cent of orders come through one of the company's mobile or web-based platforms.
A recent survey from Pizza Pizza showed that more than 19 per cent of Canadians between the ages of 18 and 34 prefer ordering their pizza through online ordering.
Pizza Pizza's Android app is available for free through the Google Play store or www.pizzapizza.ca.
