August 31, 2011, Toronto – New Orleans Pizza is ready for the tough new nutrition guidelines in Ontario schools.

The Ontario Schools Food and Nutrition guidelines comes into effect this Sept. 1, impacting all food served in public schools. Schools are encouraged to choose “sell more” options that contain lower fat, sodium and sugar content.

New Orleans Pizza developed a school lunch program that meets all provincial guidelines in 2010, anticipating the demand for healthy, tasty lunches in schools.

“Given the brand’s heritage with local schools in the southwestern and northern Ontario communities it serves, including the annual school fundraising nights program that has raised over $800,000 to date, the move makes sense,” New Orleans Pizza said in a press release.
