
Korean franchise Pizza Maru launches in Canada with patented green tea dough

News Business and Operations Catering & ExpansionToronto and Vancouver – Pizza Maru, a franchise business in Korea with 650 stores worldwide, has opened locations in Toronto and Vancouver.
The franchisor holds patents on “Functional well-being pizzadough” and “Pizza manufacturing method” referringn to its dough made from organic green tea, chlorella and 12 natural grains including rye, black rice, Italian millet and sorghum.
Pizza Maru began in 1996 in Korea as a wood-fired pizzeria, and began franchising in 2006.
The company was recognized by the Korean government and food franchise industry and selected as an ‘Excellent Franchise’ for eight consecutive years from 2011 to 2018 by the Small and Medium Business Administration certified by the Korean government. from 2014 to 2020, it was named one of the Top 100 effective franchises by the Korean newspaper Maeil Economy.
”The company has begun its expansion to overseas markets from 2013 and still looking for good business opportunities in uncovered world,” said CEO Lee Young-Jon. “We have penetrated our first overseas market in Beijing and America, and have currently launched in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Myanmar.
