Toronto – Kitchen 24 will host Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch for the less fortunate in their community and they are looking for your help.
There are more than 5,000 homeless people registered in Toronto, said Alexandra Pelts, co-founder of the food business incubator. Nearly five million Canadian live below poverty line, and one in four of those are children, she added.
She and partner Steve Kidron will host “Giving Back” to provide a Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch to 2,000 people in Kitchen 24’s 28,000-square-foot food development space at 100 Marmora St., Unit 200, in Toronto.
They also plan to have food available for pickup to half a dozen homeless shelters around Toronto.
“Most of us are fortunate to spend this festive season with our family and friends, enjoying a sumptuous meal, exchanging gifts and being merry,” Pelts said. “This is not the case for many less fortunate. We at Kitchen 24 believe in Giving Back.”
Pelts and Kirdon are in need of sponsors, donors and volunteers to help with the community event.
