First Gabriel Pizza restaurant in Atlantic Canada opens

Halifax – Ottawa-based franchise Gabriel Pizza has opened a full-service restaurant in Antigonish, N.S., its first in Atlantic Canada.

The Gabriel Pizza Franchise Corporation, partnering with Doucet Developments, made the announcement, saying the restaurant is just the beginning of a larger plan to roll out locations throughout the Maritime provinces.

“This partnership is a natural marriage of two strong brands. We’re taking our extraordinary successful pizza concept and combining it with the high standards of Doucet Developments,” said George Hanna, president and COO of Gabriel Pizza.

Future expansion plans and franchising opportunities include other parts of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.

Gabriel Pizza was established in Ottawa in 1977, and has franchise locations in eastern Ontario, western Quebec and now Nova Scotia.

Doucet Developments has operated real estate development, construction services, property management, leasing and maintenance businesses for 25 years, including a retail and hospitality division.
