Toronto – Blondies pizza and take-out concept Pantry have opened adjacent locations in Toronto’s financial district.

The two restaurant concepts, which share a production kitchen, have opened on the concourse level of Commerce Court West in the PATH near Union Station in Toronto.

Blondies has operated in Leslieville since summer 2018. Its new express menu features eight-inch personal pizzas, said parent hospitality company The Food Dudes in a news release.

Pantry expanded in 2016 from the east end of the city to Rosedale. Its custom combinations allow guests to mix and match eight proteins and 16 sides.

Pantry will showcase dishes created by Pantry chef Derek Wasser and Adrian Niman, executive chef and founder of The Food Dudes. Blondies’ menu is created by chef and co-founder Matt Blondin.

Blondies uses handmade fermented dough, full-fat mozzarella and signature Red or Blonde sauces. At Commerce Court, Blondies’ express menu includes personal pies served with minimal wait time, along with specialty salads and soft-serve sundaes.

“If you think about visiting a typical pizza place, your option for a fast meal is to grab a slice,” Blondin said. “At Commerce Court, we’re doing our version of a slice, which is an eight-inch personal pizza baked in our quick-service ovens for you to grab on the go.”

Blondies and Pantry plan to offer catering out of the production kitchen backing the two restaurants. Pantry already offers catering from The Food Dudes commissary, and corporate customers will soon be able to order directly from the new Commerce Court location.

MUOI engaged Toronto artist Ben Johnston to create the Blondies branding. Johnston conceived a swirling-mouth icon and simple, bold typography, with polka-dotted pizza boxes tying into the restaurant’s pastel pink walls and blonde maplewood panels.

Pantry is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Blondies is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
