Bitter-sweet, coffee-infused barbecue sauce is ‘hot, punchy’

Montreal – GothRider and Firebarns Hot Sauce have launched what they describe as a bitter and sweet, edgy barbecue sauce.

The sauce combines GothRider Gasoline coffee, made using slow-roasted coffee beans, and Firebarn’s “hot, punchy BBQ sauce,” the companies said in a press release.

“The sauce works equally well as a marinade, dip or accompaniment to chicken, burgers, ribs or barbecue chicken pizza,” said Phil Kyprianou, founder of GothRider.

Available in 350-millilitre bottles, the barbecue sauce retails at $9.99.

Gothrider products include clothing, jewelry and coffee As part of its introductory efforts, GothRider is offering a bundle that includes a bottle of the sauce, t-shirt, bag of coffee and a cooking apron for $74.99.

Firebarns is a Quebec-based food manufacturer of barbecue sauces, hot sauces, condiments and spices that’s been in business for six years and uses locally grown hot peppers.
