
Technomic research is singling out interesting veggies, global options and
non-alcohol beverage ingredients as growing in popularity on full-service restaurant menus in Canada.
In its latest Industry Insights report, the firm identified the five most popular specific ingredients and menu items:
- Unagi (eel) sauce typically found in sushi rolls.
- mango sauce
- ramen noodles
- parsnip, often found accompanying beef, pork or lamb dishes
- grenadine, made from pomegranate and most often found in mocktails (which Technomic said are up nearly 23 per cent year over year on menus)
