May 1, 2014 – New at Burke Corporation is
zippy, tangy Sriracha Sausage. Sriracha’s complex flavour, a combination of chili peppers, garlic,
sugar, vinegar and salt, has become a phenomenon everywhere, the company said
in a press release.
Burke said in the release that Sriracha
flavouring is a strong trend, citing a recent Technomic poll that suggested 54
per cent of consumers prefer very spicy foods and sauces, compared to just 48
per cent in 2011. Operators, it said, can use Sriracha Sausage on pizza, in
sandwiches, in casseroles, and in appetizers.
The sausage’s hand-pinched style gives a
signature look and is consistent for predictable performance and flavour. The IQF
sausage, which the company says is easy to work with, makes for efficient food
preparation.
