March 11, 2015, San Francisco, CA – An accounting software maker is partnering with an established commerce platform that allows anyone to
easily sell at their retail location.
The partnership allows merchants who use the Shopify software platform to track
the impact of sales on their business financials, frees up time spent on
manual data entry, and minimizes the frustrations created by working
with two separate systems, accounting software maker Xero said in a news release.
The partnership is designed to allow the seamless transfer of a Shopify
merchant's ecommerce storefront, point-of-sale and mobile transactions
(including sales, tax, shipping costs and refunds) directly from
Shopify to Xero, enabling real-time, easy bank reconciliation and an
accrual accounting view of a small business's books.
Xero Everywhere delivers small business tools and insights on all major platforms, devices, tablets and mobile
phones. It is designed to help business owners to stay in
touch with their numbers and, with its smartphone app and new iPad app, customers can now manage their business finances wherever they are.
"Shopify has built a best-in-class multi-channel
commerce platform for small businesses and is an ideal partner for Xero
as we continue to serve the needs of owners around the globe," said
James Maiocco, GM, business and corporate development, Xero, in the release. "We are
continuing to innovate and raise the bar to better support small
businesses, an often under-served, yet vitally important sector of the
world economy."
"Xero, like Shopify, is dedicated to helping small
business owners and entrepreneurs run their companies more efficiently,"
said Harley Finkelstein, chief platform officer, Shopify. "Bookkeeping
is a pain point for many merchants, which is why this partnership is so
important. The integration will enable real-time visibility into a
store's sales and finances, which frees up time to focus on growing
their businesses."
