Uber Eats Canada introduces delivery-only option for restaurants

Uber Eats Canada has launched a new delivery-only option that helps restaurants save money by using their own website to add menus and take orders, while tapping into Uber Eats delivery of those orders at a lower cost than full third-party delivery service.

Through the feature, called Online Ordering, restaurants can repurpose their existing settings, including menus, pricing and hours, to set up an online ordering webpage with one click. This page can be added to their existing website.

With this new webpage, restaurants can use their own website and social media channels to generate more orders. Restaurants will also have access to customer data if the customer opts-in at checkout.

The service is available for a 15 per cent service fee, reduced to 7.5 per cent until Dec. 31. As with orders made in the app, there are no fees for pick-up orders.
