Jan. 26, 2015, Toronto – A survey of the eating habits of Canadians during the Super Bowl suggests two out of five fans plan to order takeout.

The national survey by Pizza Pizza reported that the majority of
Canadians will be watching the game from home (70 per cent) or at a
friend's house this year (16 per cent), with two out of five of those
people planning to order takeout, said the company in a news release. According to the survey, pizza is the
most popular delivery choice for Canadians this year (45 per cent),
followed by chicken wings (18 per cent) and nachos (four per cent).

To
handle the increased volume of calls the company is expecting, Pizza
Pizza plans to double the number of order takers on Super Bowl Sunday.

"Every year, we experience a very large rush of calls right
before kick-off for the big game," said Pat Finelli, the company's chief marketing officer, in the release. "Our customers order from Pizza Pizza knowing
that they can expect their order in 40 minutes or less, so we have taken
several measures to make sure that their meal arrives hot, fresh and
on-time despite the busy day."

During last year's Super Bowl Sunday, Pizza Pizza locations
across Canada took almost 70,000 orders, processing approximately 134
orders per minute through its call centre during peak times. The pizza
chain sold just under 200,000 wings and over 67,000 pizzas on Super Bowl
Sunday, with pepperoni being the most popular topping.

This year it has launched
"Mini Buckets" of jalapeno poppers, Italian meatballs and sauced chicken
bites, as well as deep-fried pickles. "These items are perfect for
sharing, especially for big groups," Finelli explained.
