Good time for show energy

Between the snow and the economy, it’s been a long winter of
gloomy forecasts. Spring is just around the corner, and the trade shows that
are coming with it could be just the energy boost needed to feel like business
is humming again.

The CRFA show kicks off March 8 on a three day stretch that
overlaps the International Pizza Expo taking place from March 10 to 12. Any
quiet left from January and February can be quickly shaken off by the excitement
of two major industry events in one week. A news release indicated consumer
confidence is on the rise. If these two trade shows are well-attended and the
vibe is in good spirits, business confidence may on the rise as well.

The North American Pizza & Ice Cream Show (NAPICS) started
yesterday. With the shows comes competitions, and we’ll be awaiting results of NAPICS’
Pizza Pizzazz, in which Canadian Pizza magazine columnist Diana Coutu is
competing.

We’ll be crowning our own winner this week when we announce our
Chef of the Year on Feb. 27. Stay tuned!
