Barrie, Ont. – Topper’s Pizza has rolled out two special programs to help food banks and thank first responders.

As of March 24, $3 from every Family Pleaser Combo sold will be donated to help local food banks and Feed Ontario’s COVID-19 Emergency Food Boxes. Customers can also choose to give additional donations of $1, $2, or $5.

Second, as a thank-you to health-care workers and first responders, starting March 25, Ontario health-care workers and first responders (police, fire and paramedics) will receive 25 per cent off any large pizza.

“These are unprecedented times and families are experiencing ever-increasing stress and worry; many having been laid off. Our local food banks are stretched thin and our health-care and first responders are working around the clock to help Ontarians stay healthy and safe. For these two groups specifically, they have added pressures and we wanted to help,” said Keith Toppazzini, co-owner of Topper’s Pizza Canada.

“Our pizzerias are locally operated and giving back to our communities is of great importance to Topper’s. We encourage every company, neighbour, and community member to try to help in some small way,” said Marie Fennell, president of the chain.

The Feed Ontario Family Pleaser program is available through delivery, contactless delivery and takeout by ordering on the company’s app, website, calling 310-7171 or in-person at pizzerias.  Health-care workers and first responders can get 25 per cent off their large pizza through pick-up by showing their credentials, the company said. “We are currently offering takeout and have implemented additional measures to continue offering this service safely for our employees and customers,” Fennell said.
