May 28, 2013, Barrie, ON – Topper’s pizza will join NEWSTALK 1010 SickKids Radiothon to match all donations, up to $30,000, from listeners who call in from four to five p.m. on May 30.

Throughout May, Topper’s has helped the SickKids campaign by getting support from its customers by offering a special promotion called The Hat Trick. This special is a three-topping pizza with TopperSticks and chicken wings for $26.95. For each purchased Hat Trick, Topper’s will donate $2 to SickKids.

Additionally, coin collection boxes and an online donation form are available to customers who wish to make a donation directly to SickKids.
“We are well on our way to reaching our 2013 fundraising objectives for our corporate charity of choice, SickKids,” said Keith Toppazzini, president of Topper’s Franchise Company, in a press release. “Our goal this year is to more than double our fundraising total from 2012, and between the Hat Trick customer promotion, the coin boxes and the anticipated success of the Radiothon on May 30, we are well on our way.”

The money that Topper’s Pizza earns from its May fundraising campaigns will aid various programs at SickKids. Money raised specifically through the Radiothon will help purchase a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) unit that uses advanced technology to detect cancer cells. This particular machine can detect a specific DNA abnormality or marker found in patients with certain blood cancers such as acute promyelocytic leukemia and chronic myeloid leukemia.

“The mission of our company –from the very first day – has been to consider our customers and employees like our family,” said Toppazzini. “All of us are very excited that we can raise these types of funds for such a fulfilling and life-changing organization,” continued Toppazzini.
