Top operators named at restaurant event

Toronto – Ontario-based chain 241 Pizza has been given a consumer choice award for good value as one of six top operators in food service recently named by The NPD Group.

The NPD Consumer Choice Awards were presented to operators that showed significant increases across six categories, including Good Value, Overall Experience and Making Customers Feel Valued.

The information was captured using NPD’s Customer Satisfaction tool, which measures satisfaction ratings across 21 attributes as well as open-ended comments and intention to revisit for chain restaurants across Canada, The NPD Group said in a news release. This year’s winners included:

  • Foodservice Consumer Choice Award for fast, efficient service Winner: Scores
  • Foodservice Consumer Choice Award for food quality Winner: Cora
  • Foodservice Consumer Choice Award for healthy options Winner: Pita Pit
  • Foodservice Consumer Choice Award for good value Winner: 241 Pizza
  • Foodservice Consumer Choice Award for Making Customers Feel Valued Winner: the Keg

“Winning in the foodservice industry has never been more challenging. Even the savviest of operators have been challenged by declining traffic numbers, wage increase pressures, and the intensification of competition” said Ashley West, executive director of foodservice at The NPD Group. “Despite these challenges, this year’s award winners have managed to achieve success by focusing on innovation, customer satisfaction, and quality.”

Awards were presented Oct. 2 at the annual NPD Foodservice Summit in Toronto.
