Oct. 3, 2013, SK – Tara and Lloyd Muntain, owners of TJ’s Pizza in Melfort, Sask., are the winners of this year’s Pizza with Purpose award sponsored by Saputo Foodservice.
“This is WOW,” exclaimed Tara Muntain as Canadian Pizza magazine
surprised her with the news. “This is awesome. Fan-freakin’-tastic!”
The Muntains, along with their two teenage daughters, have
become an integral part of their community over their four years in business.
The spirit of giving began when the community of Melfort helped Lloyd and Tara
out after their youngest was diagnosed with a serious heart defect at birth
that required open-heart surgery. In return, TJ’s Pizza has given back in
countless ways to their hometown.
The Muntains will be featured as the cover story in the
December issue of Canadian Pizza, and will receive a $2500 cash prize from
Saputo Foodservice.
