Stankiewicz wins Canadian Pizza magazine’s Chef of the Year

Bondi’s Pizza in London, Ont., earned the title of Canadian Pizza magazine’s
Chef of the Year with his recipe called Pizza Calabria.

Tom Stankiewicz, owner of Bondi’s Pizza in London, Ont., earned the title of Canadian Pizza magazine’s Chef of the Year with his recipe called Pizza Calabria.
The recipe includes his famous Italian sausage, Canadian goat cheese, grilled Portobello mushrooms, and roasted red pepper, finished with a sprinkling of Bondi’s Secret Seasoning.

The Portobello mushrooms and roasted red peppers are also seasoned with a special mix of flavors.
This year’s runner-up was Diana Coutu of Diana’s Gourmet Pizzeria in Winnipeg with her Quattro Canadese Pizzas su Biga Pasta (four Canadian Pizzas on Biga Dough a.k.a “Phenome-licious”).

Her quartered pizza consisted of Havarti Heaven, Smokin’ Perogy Paradise, Kung Pao Chicken and Pierre’s Poutine.
Rounding out the top three that made into the final taste-test was Stephen Goddard of Pomodori in N.B. Goddard entered a Mushroom Marsala Pizza that combined sweet Marsala wine with a creamy mushroom topping on a thin crust.
