meeting mode, while a few brave places, such as Priddis Greens and
Silvertip, continue with winter-long restaurant service.
Joining
the latter group this year is the new clubhouse restaurant at Sirocco
Golf Club–Siraia (403-256-8591). Open for dinner Wednesday through
Sunday, and for brunch on Sunday, Siraia hopes to tempt Calgarians with
a short drive into the country for a meal with a view.
Sirocco
is located just off Spruce Meadows Way about four kilometres south of
Highway 22 and the show-jumping centre. The restaurant provides a
sweeping view of the golf course and across the foothills to the
Rockies.
Sirocco is named after a prize stallion, El Sirocco,
owned by the Duffin family on whose land the course has been developed.
Both Siraia and the attached Ibby's Lounge are named after offspring of
El Sirocco.
