Washington, DC – A communications platform that connects restaurants and suppliers at no charge aims to streamline the supply-ordering process.
The service, called BlueCart, funds its operations through supplier advertising. Restaurants can place all their orders on the company’s website and suppliers see all those orders in one place, BlueCart’s Matthew Katz said in an email.
The website allows them to send and receive orders, communicate via in-app messaging, and view order histories and automatically generated data analytics.
A major goal is help prevent lost orders by tracking them online, the company’s website says.
Since starting up in July 2014 BlueCart has more than 6,500 restaurants and suppliers on its platform.
