Nov. 1, 2014 – Restaurants looking to increase their
competitive advantage for “to-go” and over-the-counter sales of
proprietary recipes, soups, salsas, sauces may want to check
out the Seal-a-Cup System from
Wilpack Packaging.
The system is a tabletop manual, foil-sealing machine that applies foil packaging designed to prevent spills and leaks
during transport and to extend the product shelf life.
The process is designed to make the cups spill-proof for
transport and keep the product fresh two to three times longer. Staff can do this work during food prep times
or even as to-go orders are prepared, said
a press release from the company.
The portion packaged, foil-sealed cups aim to prevent
spilling liquid or semi-viscous products such as soup, sauce, salsa, syrup, and
salad dressing, gravy, curry, chili, pudding, hummus, coleslaw, potato salad
and mashed potatoes.
The portion control cups may enable pre-packaged retail
sales to create an additional revenue stream for a restaurant, said the
release. Existing restaurant staff can package these items during non-peak
service hours, while the restaurant may promote its brand, with its name, logo,
or other information imprinted on the foil seals or portion control cups.
