Nov. 30, 2012, Winnipeg – Pizza Pizza has opened the doors to two new locations in the Winnipeg area. The new restaurants are located at 3525 Roblin Boulevard and 661 Henderson Highway, representing the seventh and eighth stores to open in the region.

“We’re very happy with the response we’ve received to date,” said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer for Pizza Pizza. “Winnipeggers have a huge appetite for flavour and an appreciation for great value.”

Across its network of stores, Pizza Pizza offers a special fundraising program to local charities and other groups that wish to raise funds through pizza catering. Last month, the company and its Winnipeg-area stores have participated in Slices for Smiles, a program that has raised more than $1 million for children’s charities, including Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

Pizza Pizza opened its first restaurant in Winnipeg in July 2009. Today, Pizza Pizza has eight traditional locations in the city and four non-traditional locations in sites such as the University of Manitoba, Cineplex theatres and five counters at the MTS Centre as part of its sponsorship of the Winnipeg Jets. The company’s sixth restaurant was opened last month in Transcona, a suburb of Winnipeg.
