November 4, 2011, Milton, ON – Pizza Pizza is spinning more pizzas, serving more food and employing more people with the opening of its second restaurant in the growing community of Milton, Ont.

The 1,300 square foot restaurant is located at 6521 Derry Road. It has in-store seating for 12 and is staffed by 10 full-time and part-time employees.

The new location is owned by Satinderpal Singh Randhawa, who joined the Pizza Pizza franchise community after recognizing a huge opportunity in Milton and a need to service its rapidly growing population.

“It is an honour to be able to contribute to the growth of the Milton community,” said Satinderpal. “There are so many families living in and moving into this area, so it’s exciting to be a part of their new lives here. We look forward to providing them with the great service and food that Pizza Pizza is known for.”

The new restaurant features several industry innovations and firsts for Pizza Pizza. The opening is part of a new store concept that requires less investment capital from franchisees, and features environmentally-friendly LED ceiling lights, as well as new LED backlit menu boards that will use half as much power as previous menu boards.

“We’ve been working hard to pinpoint areas across the country that would be a great location for a new restaurant,” said Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer for Pizza Pizza. “Milton is easily one of the fastest growing cities in all of Canada, with an influx of families from all over the Greater Toronto Area making the move to this up-and-coming community.”

Pizza Pizza opened its first location in Milton at 500 Laurier Avenue, in 1988.
