pzpiewithgraterthumbnaiOctober 8, 2010, Toronto – October is National Pizza Month. For Pizza Pizza, that means community pizza parties, athlete appearances, and weekly cash giveaways through the chain’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Throughout the month, the Pizza Pizza team will celebrate its love of everything pie by reflecting on the history of pizza, planning special appearances and raising money for Children's Miracle Network.

“Pizza Pizza has been in the people business and making pizza for over 40 years,” says Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer of Pizza Pizza. “October is special because it means fun with families, fundraising for children and celebrating Canadians’ enjoyment of pizza.”

Later this month, the chain will hold its annual Slices for Smiles fundraiser. Locations across Canada will collect donations and sell discounted medium pepperoni pies for $4.99. A portion of the proceeds will go to Children’s Miracle Network, which will use the money to fund patient care, research, and educational initiatives at children’s hospitals nationwide.
