October 13, 2009, Toronto – Pizza Pizza Limited has launched a line-up of new initiatives that will help customers in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia celebrate National Pizza Month, a celebration of pizza held annually in October.
At the heart of the campaign is "Slices for Smiles," a week-long fundraiser that raises proceeds and donations for children's hospitals in conjunction with Children's Miracle Network.
"Through our partnership with Pizza Pizza, parents can bring a smile to their child's face while helping to protect the wellbeing of children requiring medical attention," said John Hartman, chief international officer for Children's Miracle Network. "Everyone loves pizza, and Canadian hospitals continually need more funding, so the fit could not be better."
Since 2007, through the Slices for Smiles program Pizza Pizza has raised more than $281,000 for children's charities.
