Oct. 17, 2008, Toronto, Ont. – Unicef has saved the lives of more children than
any other humanitarian organization in the world.
"October 31st has been declared National Unicef Day and when it was
brought to our attention that Unicef had ended their Halloween Collection
Program, we approached them to learn how Pizza Nova could support this
incredible organization's ongoing efforts." Says Stephanie Angelone, Marketing
Director for Pizza Nova.
"UNICEF is thrilled to partner with Pizza Nova, as together we build
awareness of our Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign in Ontario. We are proud
that Pizza Nova has come on board to help us give children in Africa a chance
for a better future through our Schools For Africa programme" says
Carolyn Solby, Director of Corporate Partnerships, UNICEF CANADA.
The Trick-or-Treat for Unicef campaign supports the Schools for Africa
Programme, in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation whose overall
goal is to get 4 million children back to school.
During the two weeks leading up to Halloween, Pizza Nova will be
informing customers of the Schools for Africa programme's efforts and inviting
them to visit www.trickortreatforunicef.com . This initiative will be supported
by print, web and messages included with every order. "Halloween marks a very
busy day for us at Pizza Nova and a very exciting one for children, using our
voice to create awareness for the incredible work Unicef does to improve the
lives of children in Africa and around the globe is an honour in itself."
Added Angelone.
Pizza Nova invests significantly in the support of local charities, and
those benefitting children have and continue to be of particular interest.
