Pizza Nova launches RWA bacon, commits to 100% RWA chicken, ham in 2016

Toronto – Pizza Nova now offers bacon made from pork that is raised without antibiotics and has committed to do the same with its chicken wings, grilled chicken and ham by the end of 2016, Pizza Nova said in a news release.

In May 2015, the Ontario-based pizzeria chain of 140 locations developed and added to its menu “Raised Without Antibiotics” (RWA) pepperoni.

“There is a definite shift occurring in the food industry,” said Pizza Nova president Domenic Primucci in the release. “Consumers are paying closer attention to what processes and ingredients go into their food, and people expect better, as they should.

“Quality is in our DNA, and in an industry where standards are always increasing, we continually look for ways to improve. Introducing RWA proteins is one of the ways we’re doing that,” Primucci said.
