London, Ont. – A new pizza festival called the Pizza & Wine Project is being launched this June in London, Ont.

The public event will take place at Dundas Place Block Number 1 on Saturday, June 1.

The idea of the event is to have pizza vendors serving the public, organizer Pablo Tovar told Canadian Pizza. Members of the public will vote for the best pizza. The event will also feature other Italian dishes.

A portion of ticket sales will go to Bethany’s Hope Foundation, Tovar said. The foundation raises awareness and funds for research on a rare disease known as metachromatic dystrophy that afflicts children and youth.

“I love the combination of food, cocktails and music that I think is an authentic art and a good way to make people happy,” Tovar said.

Any area pizzerias wanting to take part should contact Tovar at 519-317-8818 or email him at stereocaliente@gmail.com.
