Papa Murphy’s named no. 1 after consumer survey

be no. 1 in the pizza category.

Aug. 15, 2012, Vancouver, Wash. – A survey administered by Nation's Restaurant News and WD Partners found Papa Murphy's take-n-bake pizza to be no. 1 in the pizza category.

More than 5,000 consumers were surveyed in the second annual Consumer Picks. Papa Murphy's emerged number 1 within the pizza category in nine out of 10 attributes surveyed. The company scored 71.2 per cent overall in the pizza category and ranked number 2 of 97 limited service restaurants (quick service and fast casual chains). The survey rated the following attributes for each restaurant: atmosphere, cleanliness, craveability, food quality, likely to recommend, likely to return, menu variety, reputation, service and value.

The data collected revealed that food quality is the most important attribute to consumers, and Papa Murphy's ranked no. 1 in food quality in the pizza segment.

The 2012 survey results are based on 130,000 restaurant visits made by a pool of 5,346 consumers in the six months following December 15, 2011. Queried online, the consumers were asked to rate 171 brands on each of the 10 attributes. The brands were divided into four categories, limited service, family dining, casual dining and fine dining.
