Foundation of Canada and Papa John’s Pizza have undertaken several fundraising campaigns aimed at launching a Sunshine DreamLift plane trip from Kelowna in
December 2015.
April 29 will mark the first Papa John’s Pizza Dreams for Kids Day, a news release said.
Participating Papa John’s Pizza locations in Kelowna, West Kelowna,
Kamloops, and Prince George will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds and
staff wages to Sunshine’s Individual Dreams and Sunshine DreamLift
programs.
“We are excited to start this new partnership with Papa John’s Pizza,
which will ensure that we continue to fulfill Individual Dreams for kids
and launch the Sunshine DreamLift from Kelowna in December – Sunshine’s
60th DreamLift,” said Nancy Sutherland, chief executive officer of The Sunshine Foundation
of Canada, in the release. “Sunshine and Papa John’s are a perfect fit with shared
values of delivering a unique and personal experience and recognizing
that people and kids are at the heart of what we do.”
“Our Team at Papa John’s looks forward to ensuring that children in
the Okanagan continue to have their Sunshine Dreams come true,” said Geoff Linquist, owner of the Kelowna and West Kelowna Papa John’s
locations. “I have participated in previous Sunshine DreamLifts and know
this is such a special program with so much community support. Papa
John’s just had to do whatever we could to keep it going.”
The partnership between Papa John’s Pizza and Sunshine kicks off with
the DreamCookie, on sale now at participating locations – Kelowna, West
Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George – and continues with Papa John’s
Pizza Dreams for Kids Day on April 29. One dollar from the sale of
each DreamCookie will go towards Sunshine Dreams.
