Jan. 2, 2015, Burlington, Ont. – Seasoning manufacturer and
food-processing partner Malabar Super Spice recently achieved certification, with
an A-grade, against the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety.
Malabar supplies pepperoni and meat manufacturers and does
work for a number of pizza chains on flavour development.
BRC Global Standards is a safety and quality certification
program used by over 21,000 certificated suppliers in 123 countries, said the
company in a news release. The program issues certification through an
international network of accredited certification bodies. The Standards
guarantee the standardization of quality, safety and operational criteria and
ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection
for the end consumer.
“Malabar has always been absolutely dedicated to quality and
food safety. This certification is the culmination of that commitment, and we
are thrilled to have been given BRC’s top grade!” said Doris Valade, Malabar’s
president, in the release.
