Members of Women in Food Industry Management not only hunger for role models, they serve them up at an incredible feast each year. This year’s feast was held at The Old Mill in Toronto, where over 100 industry women were in attendance to meet and mingle with their role models, women who are making a difference to this industry sector.

The Annual Women in Pursuit of Excellence Awards recognizes the achievements of its members. The Awards are presented each year to two outstanding women, honouring them with the Woman of the Year and the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
This year’s role models – winners of the Women in Pursuit of Excellence Awards are Joan Gillespie and Doris Valade.

Joan Gillespie of Newly Weds Food Co. is WFIM Woman of the Year, recognized for her work within the industry as well as her contributions and support to the association and its members. Joan has been a cheerleader and great friend to many industry women over the years, this award is one way to express our gratitude for her mentorship and guidance.
