Petaluma, CA – An “Uncommon Flavors of Europe” campaign co-financed by the European Union, has launched an online contest for a trip to Italy to visit the production areas of the its partner products Asiago PDO cheese, Speck Alto Adige PGI air-cured ham and Pecorino Romano PDO cheese.

Asiago PDO cheese is made in the regions of Veneto and Trentino; Speck Alto Adige PGI lightly smoked, air-cured ham is made in the region of Alto Adige; and Pecorino Romano PDO cheese is made in the regions of Sardinia and Lazio, the campaign said in a news release.

The three products represent the rigorous standards that agricultural products must meet in order to receive the European quality system certifications of guarantee: PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), the release said.

The Uncommon Flavors of Europe “Learn & Earn” contest allows participants the opportunity to go online and learn more about Asiago, Pecorino Romano and Speck Alto Adige, and complete a quiz in order to earn entries in the contest for a trip to visit the production zones of each product.
