New Boston Pizza store donates to breast cancer research

Barrie, Ont. – As part of Boston Pizza’s grand opening of its second store in Barrie, Ont., the restaurant donated more than $1,800 to Canadian Breast Cancer Research and its Run for the Cure initiative.

Boston Pizza International recently opened its 118th Ontario location at 447 Cundles Rd. E. in Barrie, Ont.

The new location employs more than 80, Boston Pizza International said in a news release. “The Boston Pizza brand has been a staple in the Barrie community for many years and we are thrilled to bring a second Boston Pizza location to the residents here,” said owner Mark Torchia in the release.

Boston Pizza Barrie North is owned by Mark Torchia and Carla Torchia, and managed by Abhi Sinha.

“To continue to make a difference in the Barrie community, we are excited to work closely with even more of the local sports teams, schools and other groups,” Sinha said. “As part of Boston Pizza brand’s long tradition of giving back to the local community, we plan to support the Barrie Colts, Georgian College and the Bayfield Recreation Center in addition to other local groups and causes.”
