Vancouver – Canadian chain Famoso Italian Pizzeria + Bar is now selling a thick-crust pizza inspired by pizza styles originating from Sicily and New York.

Famoso’s New York Sicilian-Style Thick Crust pizza is bigger and thicker than the company's traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas and uses the same quality of "00" flour imported from Italy to create a thick crust that is both fluffy and crispy, the company said in a news release.

Examples of the thick-crust pizzas include the Triple Double, topped with 52 slices of pepperoni; Italian Job, topped with three Italian deli-style meats; Tuscan Forno Chicken, with a full breast of Italian seasoned chicken; Famoso California, loaded with prawns; Chorizo Grande Deluxe with two full chorizo sausages; and the Bacon Double Cheeseburger, featuring Famoso’s family-kept recipe of beef, pork and ricotta meatballs.

The chain also has added plant-based pizzas, wings and more Italian items to its menu. The plant-based pies are topped with rossa sauce, dairy-free cheese from Daiya Foods, and Yves Veggie Cuisine plant-based pepperoni.

The new large "Forno Style Wings" are roasted and available in traditional hot buffalo, sweet bourbon barbecue, Montreal-style salt and pepper, and Italian-style pesto and Parmesan.

Famoso has also expanded its Italian menu offerings to include authentic pastas like Rigatoni Ragu and Linguine Rose with Prawns; traditional Italian entrees like Chicken Piccata and Prawns a la Diavolo; and Italian inspired desserts Orange Ricotta Cheesecake and Traditional Tiramisu.
