Baking conference and trade show set for Vancouver in April

Vancouver – Pizza makers looking to check out the latest in dough ingredients and techniques may be interested in a national trade show and conference catering to the Canadian baking industry is set for Vancouver in April.

Bakery Congress 2017 is produced by the Baking Association of Canada and held in Vancouver once every four years. The upcoming event will take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre April 23 and 24.

The show floor will host approximately 200 exhibits featuring baking ingredients, equipment, packaging, services, technology and semi-finished and finished baked goods (fresh, proof and bake, par-baked, freezer-to-oven, thaw and serve).

“There will be many new products/services and exciting speakers to learn, see, touch taste, and experience,” said Paul Hetherington, president and chief executive officer of the BAC, in a news release.

The BAC is Canada’s largest baking industry trade association that represents the country’s $8.6 billion commercial, retail and in-store bakeries. Its members represents more than 80 per cent of Canada’s production capacity within the industry producing a wide range of products including breads and rolls, cakes, pastries, cookies and other sweet goods with semi-finished and frozen products.
