February 2, 2010, U.S. – The lighting industry company Lifetronics International is helping restaurants go green with a new 15-watt dimmable special light bulb.

The Micro-Brite cold cathode light bulb serves as an energy efficient lighting alternative for restaurateurs. Lifetronics says that it is an affordable light bold that dims and has incandescent lighting.

"Lighting design plays a crucial part in the dining experience that a restaurant offers its customers," said Bob Sorensen, vice president of marketing of Litetronics. “If a restaurant is dimming its lights to create a specific ambiance, it does not want to sacrifice that atmosphere for the sake of saving energy when customer satisfaction is most important.”

The company’s 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite light bulb generates 750 lumens, can save up to 75 per cent on energy costs, and is a suitable replacement for the popular 60-watt A19 incandescent bulbs. Micro-Brite’s cold cathode technology allows it to dim to 5 per cent of its light output, so restaurants can save energy in dimmable fixtures without changing their customers’ dining experience.
